Locking Cells in Google Sheets

Post date: Oct 8, 2015 1:28:20 PM

Collaborating on Google Sheets in class is a great activity, however, sometimes users may accidentally delete information you entered into the spreadsheet. There is a way for you to be able to prevent users from editing headers or other important information in the sheet by using "Protect Range".

Protect Range

  1. Select the cell or range of cells you do not want users to be able to edit
  2. Right click and select "Protect Range"
  3. Choose who has access to edit those cells
